Auburn 5-3 with a bright future.

Another lonngggg night in Auburn football history. Needless to say, I was a little upset about how Auburn played. Are they terrible? Right now, they are. In order to understand how Auburn is doing so bad, there are a couple of factors:

First, let's look at the roster:
15 Redshirt Freshmen
22 Freshmen
27 Sophomores
29 Juniors
10 Seniors

74 of these players are on scholarship and several have been kicked off the team before the season started.

12 of these freshmen are playing.

Add a brand new coaching staff to this mix and you just knew it wasn't going to be a great year. However, with that said, it's not as bad as it could be. The tigers are likely to finish 6-6 the way they are playing but that is just as good as Pete Carol's, Bob Stoop's and Nick Saban's first year at their schools.

Why is the future bright? Because alot of young players are getting their feet wet early in SEC play and that is invaluable. The biggest recruits that I was excited about are currently redshirted. A buildup for the future. That's pretty smart.

Let's turn our attention to the current recruiting class. Wow!!! It's the first time in 10 years Auburn has had this high of a recruiting class this early. Currently #12 on Rivals.com. The #2 RB in the nation is expected to commit in the couple of days. Let's look at the big commits so far:

Joel Bonomolo...4 star defensive end from California
Ed Christian....4 star Offensive lineman...#29 OL in the country.
Antonio Goodwin....4 star Wide receiver....#40 Wide receiver in the country.
Shon Coleman....4 star Offensive lineman....#10 OL in the country.
LaDarius Owens...4 star Linebacker....#6 linebacker in the country. #3 player in Alabama.
Jeremy Richardson...4 star Wide receiver....#26 Wide receiver in the country. #6 in Alabama.
Craig Sanders....4 star defensive end.....#12 in country....#7 in Alabama.
Cody Parkey....#1 kicker in the country.

My two favorite redshirt freshmen...
Deangelo Benton....5 star receiver
Tyrik Rollison....#2 Dual Threat QB in the country...deemed the most accurate QB recruit of last year.

So is there a reason to be afraid? NO. The future is looking brighter all the time. All we can do is watch the young guys develop and watch the top recruiting classes roll on in. WAR EAGLE!!!
